Janey Lazenby has been using acrylic paint successfully for some years but recently has taken to using coloured pencils. Here you can see that as she says, 'it's not just colouring in'.

She has had confirmation that this piece of work called 'Early Morning of the Canal' has been selected for the Open International Annual exhibition by UKCPS (UK Coloured Pencil Society).  It's Janey's first try at this big International and she is delighted to have got in. The show takes place in April in Birmingham.  The same piece was selected to be in an American publication by Anne Kullberg (Coloured Pencil US guru) called CP Hidden Treasures.......

The piece in question was completed for arttutor.com as a step by step demonstration that Janey did in her studio, so it not only has become a popular piece in it's own right, but is arttutor's most popular download teaching resource! Whoop!!!!

Reference photo for the drawing was taken by Janey last Easter on the Staffordshire Canal route.

Janey's painting of 'Black Pearl II' is heading to the Association of Animal Artists (AAA) exhibition at Castle Parks Art Centre in Lancashire during April.  She is now a trustee of the AAA.
