"Creative Connnections" - The Cooper Gallery, Barnsley.
Saturday 14 January to Saturday 17 March 2012

It's been a while since we last participated in an exhibition at the Cooper Gallery (although several of our members often have work for sale in the gallery's shop), so we were delighted to be invited to take part in their "Creative Connections" exhibition.

As the gallery explain on their web site,

"Three local art groups have been asked to produce work for the first exhibition
of the Olympic year.  The theme of the exhibition is sport and movement and the
artists have been asked to interpret this theme in their own way.  We can expect
an interesting variety of work with a diverse range of subjects."

We will be exhibiting alongside Art Buddies, Barnsley Photographic Society and Icon Arts.  But that makes 4 local arts groups, we hear you cry.  And the more eagle-eyed will also notice that we are missing from the gallery's web site site.  'Tis true: we did suffer a bit of a misunderstanding so only got fully on board rather late in the process, but that has only served to stir our creative juices and we think that you will find some rather refreshing interpretations of the exhibition's inviting theme.

Those of our members exhibiting are:
Ann Parkin

Glenys Parkes

Ian Addison

Jackie Prachek

Jane Lazenby

Pat Smith

Sheila Spencer

Simon Brock

Sue Evans

Yvonne North Moorhouse
The Cooper Gallery is situated on Church Street in Barnsley town centre.

The exhibition is open:

- Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm
- Saturday 10am to 3pm.

Sunday closed.
