Leatherworker and Painter

Perhaps even more than painting, I love getting to grips with tools and making things or mending them.

I trained as a cabinetmaker and used to work in antique furniture restoration, a background which has given me an obsessive love of precision and a great appreciation of the sublime craftsmanship which can be achieved using only hand tools.

I aim to make my leatherworking operation as sustainable and ethically sound as possible.

To this end, I am currently developing a range of bags and accessories made using traditionally veg-tanned British leather. 

They are coloured without dyes using only natural oils, and made entirely without machinery using techniques and tools which have changed little for centuries.

Heavily influenced by both the philosophy and aesthetics of the English Arts & Crafts movement, these high quality products are extremely durable, honest to the material from which they are made, and have a distinctive and (I hope) timeless appearance.
